Code of Conduct for Spectators
Definition of Spectators: For the purpose of this code, spectators include all individuals attending the game, regardless of their role (parent, fan, volunteer, etc.)
Expected Behavior:
- Support and Encourage: Spectators are expected to support and encourage all players, promoting a positive environment.
- Respect Others: Treat players, teammates, fellow spectators, and opposing team members with respect.
- Respect Officials: Respect the authority of officials during games. Address any concerns through proper channels; never approach, yell at, or belittle officials.
- No Coaching or Officiating: Refrain from coaching or officiating from the stands.
- No Abusive Behavior: Avoid threatening, verbal, physical, or abusive behavior towards anyone.
- Respect Facilities: Treat facilities with respect.
- Report Misconduct: Report any perceived misconduct by coaches, players, parents, or officials to the gym supervisor or program supervisor, who will escalate to the league director.
Coaches' Responsibility: Coaches are responsible for ensuring their spectators' behavior aligns with this code.
Disciplinary Actions:
- Immediate Removal: Spectators may be asked to leave the gym by a gym supervisor and barred from returning that day.
- Future Game Ban: Repeated misconduct may result in spectators being barred from attending future games.
